Vancouver MRA is a grass roots men's human rights activist organization in Canada's largest Western city for the purpose of real-world activism. It is the mandate of Vancouver MRA to provide information, and a point of contact and support for MRAs in British Columbia.

Formed by six dedicated men and women in Early 2012, the group focuses on off the grid, real world, strictly lawful, and non-violent activism in defence of the human rights of men and boys. Members of Vancouver MRA work together, in person and around metro Vancouver in a number of grass roots activist projects.

Membership is private, but individuals interested in participating are encouraged to contact info@vancouverMRA.com

What is the MRM?

The Men’s Rights Movement (MRM) is a grass roots, unfunded and loosely associated collection of human rights advocates focused on opposing the marginalization and vilification of men and boys in Western society. The MRM is a non-violent, non-political movement comprised of men and women who believe, based on a growing body of evidence that the human rights of males are being systematically removed by activists, lobbyists, politicians and academicians who cling to a misguided and wrongheaded belief that masculinity is fundamentally violent or harmful. This persistent myth is often referred to as cultural misandry.
The reality of men’s second-class status within Western society is demonstrated by a number of well known, but ignored facts. This is a short sample for illustrative purposes only.
A few examples include that Men die roughly 5 years earlier than women, men commit suicide at 4 times the rate of women. In addition, 93% of workplace deaths are male, and while courts enforce financial obligations to women with children,  they have no reproductive rights.  The point of this summary is not to build an exhaustive case, or to list dozens of examples with cited sources;  but to outline, in abbreviated terms the social and political landscape which requires a vigorous activist movement in defence of the human rights of men and boys.

  1. "The thing is, it's patriarchy that says men are stupid and monolithic and unchanging and incapable. It's patriarchy that says men have animalistic instincts and just can't stop themselves from harassing and assaulting. It's patriarchy that says men can only be attracted by certain qualities, can only have particular kinds of responses, can only experience the world in narrow ways.

Feminism holds that men are capable of more - are more than that." -Meme floating around Facebook.

    Just sayin'.

    1. You're posting a Facebook meme? don't you ever think for yourself?

Feminism is patriarchy dialled up to 15. The big-F ideology of gender cannot even exist without the foundation of chivalry.

    2. That's why feminists fight against gender roles right? What fantasy world are you living in?

    3. The fantasy world where men die earlier, receive less health care funding, and do more hard physical work, perhaps?

It's right next to LA LA land, where 3 in 4 murder victims - men; 4 in 5 suicides - men; 90% homeless - men.

I remember the feminist fighting against gender roles. For example in the so called Arab Spring there was a call for more women in the new governments. Unfortunately, and I'm sure this was patriarchy anyway, the feminists didn't have time to grab a gun and get on the frontline to stop men taking the gender assigned role of "those who get shot at".

    4. The notion of a universal scapegoat, be it the "patriarchy" or the "bourgeoisie", underscores the antagonism inherent in a Marxist world view defined by class struggle. Cultural Marxism has infused feminist theory with an adversarial "us vs them" paradigm, replacing the bourgeoisie with the patriarchy while framing class struggle along gender lines. Such simplistic dualism is wholly inadequate to elucidate the sociocultural construct of gender, and ultimately pits the sexes against each other while antagonizing men.

As nonsensical as it is to blame anti-male sexism on the "patriarchy", I can nevertheless understand the ideological underpinnings of your rhetoric. Blindly blaming a pre-defined scapegoat for everything, even the disadvantages of the purportedly "privileged" class, is typically Marxist -- the bourgeoisie is the real enemy, even of the capitalist. Likewise, feminist doublethink blames patriarchy for male disadvantage, if it is acknowledged at all.

Ultimately, the same mindset that blames men for female disadvantage is adapted to blame men for male disadvantage. This persistent misandristic antagonism prevents feminists from taking a holistic perspective on gender as a sociocultural whole greater than the sum of its parts. Neither men nor women can be blamed for the status quo -- gender transcends sex and is a societal force to which we are all subjected.

"Cultural Marxism refers to a category within cultural studies, popular mainly in the 1960s. Its purpose is to apply analytical techniques developed by Karl Marx (see dialectic materialism) to discover power structures within cultural artifacts like family composition, gender, race, or cultural identity within Western society."

  2. It seems that I am the first to congratulate you for speaking out in Vancouver.

Well done to you men and women who take the radical notion that men are human beings.

I hope your association with the men's rights movement is long and fruitful. I believe you will, as individuals, benefit from the experience.

I also believe that Vancouver will be a better place as a result of your movement's existence.

  3. Maybe the murder/suicide/homeless rates for men happens to be so high because males are as a gender: stupid, animistic, boorish, and short sighted?

I can't help but wonder how lovely it will be when women come together as a gender and start producing children only via test-tubes and eradicate the male population. At least then we won't have to pick your socks off the floor.

    1. Katherine women would die if they ever attempted too destroy the male population. Also i must add men are superior, deal with it bitch it's called biology, Anthropology & other fields that destroy your movements beliefs that arisen from insanity & denial just for starters.Women are superior at child bearing & a few other activities such as cooking (which actually requires intelligence, i see why feminism hates cooking as you all fear any form of coherent mental function.Too continue with your delusional belief's that you'll all kill men because you have the weakest of adult boys & pussy beggars is misguided in fact they'd die first & if you payed attention in history class before history was corrupted in the name of feminism you'd know that women will never rule over the world or a damn thing, us men have allowed you too get this far for we realize that although you're all evil bitches that secretly seek to mutilate & murder women & children that us men & women (don't delude yourself's you're not women you're barbarians)will make every attempt too open your eyes too the truth & too end your movement of Misandry & Misogyny in a peaceful manner, through if you feminist don't stop you'll likely be executed when you attempt your mass genocide which includes Jews thus making your movement worse then Adolf Hitler himself.

  4. Congratulations Katherine, your hate fuelled and genocidal fantasies provide a clear indication for the need for the men's rights movement to exist, and the need for local organizations like Vancouver MRA

  5. @Katherine: I can't help but wonder what kind of a world you will inherit when you find stored sperm develops genetic defects and cloning cannot provide enough genetic diversity to avoid more extreme versions of in-breeding than have ever existed before.

I suspect men will be more than happy to ceede you a world inhabited by hermaphroditic bizarros.

    1. So, Miss Goldie, I can go to a few therapy sessions, and then I won't care about workplace fatalities (93% men) or homelessness (65-80% men) or suicide (80% men) or routine infant circumcision, or unequal treatment in the courts or the family courts, or gender ideology taking precedent over facts in our government, fantastic, can you recommend a good therapist who can make me not worry about these things? I must be very freeing to not care at all about other human beings Miss Goldie. I look forward to my first session.
